Beauty

What is it that defines---beauty? The curve of neck, the eyes; the way her/his hair flows in the breeze---an attitude of fierce Independence?

How we express who we are is paramount to who steps forward and shows the world that 'Hello, this is me, here I am. hop in, let's go!'

Yet how much of the person you suggest to your world is truly you? What images do you cling to that pull you away from perhaps who you truly are. Or who you really would prefer to be?

Are you really all that mysterious/intelligent/popular? Or are you perhaps a kind and generous person trying to unfold into someone else. Are you just plain tired of being nice?

Is being a mother, lover, tea-sipper, casserole-maker all there is to you? Is that so wrong? OR, are you showing the world what you think they want to see and secretly dying inside.

Try and imagine the person you really, honestly are. Toss aside all the props and careful lighting and stand in front of the mirror and just see---just see the you that's been there all along.

Are you ready to be true to your heart? Do you see the beauty that's been there along?

I see it...

In my next book I explore what beauty is. What it means and how it defines us. And is beauty honestly the perfect nose/cheekbones/breasts---or is it something more?
